Muzaffarpur, Jan. 29: The Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (MIT) students — accused of teasing girls on January 21 — could face serious disciplinary action, including expulsion, following the intervention of the state government.
Sources said Daudkothi resident and lawyer Rajkamal, whose house the students had allegedly vandalised, spoke to an official at the chief minister’s secretariat on January 24 over telephone.
The official advised Rajkamal to fax his complaint to the chief minister’s office. The science and technology department subsequently directed MIT principal Dhuruv Prasad to take necessary action against the erring students.
Prasad told The Telegraph that the dis- ciplinary committee of the engineering institute had been asked to convene a meeting to decide on the course of action.
