Gaya, Oct. 21: A panchayat teacher of a primary school in Nasirchak village under Mohanpur block has been sacked from his job following the order of the district magistrate, citing the latter’s alleged link with Maoists.

The teacher, Rambali Pas-wan alias Gandhi, has been named accused under different sections of IPC for his alleged involvement in murder, illegal possession of firearms and explosives.

Gaya police have submitted chargesheet against Rambali in two cases.

Sources said the teacher was absent from the school without information for more than 25 months between July 5, 2007 and August 23, 2009. He was again absent from school for more than 15 days in September this year.

Earlier, the district magistrate, Bandana Preyashi, in a letter dated October 17, had asked the district education officer to terminate the services of the teacher and inform her (the DM) within two days.

After receiving the DM order, panchayat secretary of Kewla sacked the teacher with immediate effect.
