Urban development minister Prem Kumar inaugurates a workshop, “Strengthening implementations of Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana in Bihar”, in Patna on Tuesday. He said NGOs not working according to the guidelines of the scheme would be blacklisted. The minister asked officials concerned to make payments to the agencies working properly. Department secretary S Siddharth said: “We are planning to monitor functioning of different agencies and NGOs in the execution of the scheme by a ‘third party’. They should also ensure employment of 30 per cent of trained youths according to the bylaws of skill training for employment promotion among urban poor.” Deliberations were also held on the five components of the sceheme: STEP-UP, urban wage programme, urban self-employment, urban woman self-help and urban community development network.
