Members of the Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday launched a special drive in Patna to weed out corruption. Around 250 members of the party’s state wing wielded brooms — the symbol of the party — in hands in their drive launched from Kargil Chowk at 12 noon. The members claimed that they would use the brooms to rid society of corruption. The group, led by Bihar AAP founder member Ratnesh Choudhary and physician Diwakar Tejaswi, cleaned roads up to Bakarganj via Ashok Rajpath before ending the campaign at Kargil Chowk. The members covered around 7km as part of the campaign. Choudhary said the programme was launched to make people aware about the emergence of the new party which aims to serve the common man. He added that in the coming Lok Sabha polls, the people of Bihar would sweep out corrupt politicians from the state. Text by Amit Bhelari, picture by Ranjeet Kumar Dey |
