Patna, Jan. 20: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the examination dates for Summative Assessment-2 (SA-2) for Class IX students today. Schools have been instructed to conduct the examination between February 25 and March 5.
The CBSE had introduced Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation across schools from the 2009-10 academic session, under which four formative assessments and two summative assessments are supposed to be conducted every year.
The vice-principal of Patna Central School, O.P. Singh, said: “The CBSE will send the question paper bank to the schools by February 20 and the marking scheme will be sent by March 5. The schools can prepare their own questions by following the criteria set by the board.” School teachers will evaluate the answer scripts. The board will provide the question paper bank in eight subjects while the schools would prepare the question papers for other subjects.
Ajay Kumar, a Class IX student of Leed’s Asian School, said: “It is good the examination dates have been announced. As the exam is approaching, I am getting more tensed. Now when the dates have been announced, I will have to prepare accordingly.”
