
Central University of South Bihar students have been selected as assistant teachers at Delhi Public School, Gaya. The BA-BEd and BSc- BEd four-year integrated course students have been picked for the premier school through campus placement recently organised on the CUSB campus, confirmed public relations officer Mudassir Alam.
While CUSB BEd student Ankit Parmar will teach social science, Rita Raj and Supriya will teach mathematics. Ankit said: “I was selected on the basis of a written examination followed by interview. The training and guidance provided to us during the BEd course helped a lot in the entire process.”
Central University of South Bihar’s vice-chancellor Harish Chandra Singh Rathore congratulated the students and pro-vice-chancellor Om Prakash Rai advised them to live by example.
Dean of the School of Education Rekha Aggarwal also congratulated students placed in the programme.
Blood donation
A blood donation camp was organised at Patna Medical College on Saturday in which the students and faculty members donated blood.
Among the faculty members who donated blood were Dr Rajiv Singh, Dr Vidyapati Choudhary and Dr Upendra. Patna Medical College and Hospital superintendent Dr Deepak Tandon was also present.
Patna Medical College principal Vijay Kumar Gupta, who inaugurated the camp, said: “Voluntary blood donation should be promoted. Even the richest people feel helpless when they don’t find blood in need.”
Research solutions
Central University of South Bihar’s academic committee organised a talk on “Situating social science research in the context of contemporary development” on Monday.
AN Sinha Institute of Social Studies director Sunil Ray asked: “Why is it that after so much research by social scientists, we are yet to resolve socio-economic problems? Researchers should search for theories that can solve contemporary problems. The solution that we choose for development should incorporate human values.”
