Student hangs self

A 25 year-old engineering graduate Sumit Kumar committed suicide on Thursday by hanging himself from a rope tied to the fan of his room at Mogulpura Police Chowki under Khazekalan police station.

Patna City: A 25 year-old engineering graduate Sumit Kumar committed suicide on Thursday by hanging himself from a rope tied to the fan of his room at Mogulpura Police Chowki under Khazekalan police station.

As soon as the news of Sumit's suicide spread, the police reached the spot and started investigations. Sumit was the son of Kamal Kishore, a doctor working in the primary health centre (PHC) at Raghopur.

Sumit had completed his engineering studies and was in search of a job. Sources said Sumit had been depressed for the past few days as he was still unemployed.

The police have recovered a suicide note. Sumit's body has been sent for autopsy to Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), Sayendra Kumar, officer in-charge of Khajekalan police station, said.
