Patna, Oct. 7: The stretch of Fraser Road in front of Buddha Smriti Park would be given a facelift. Presently, it is in a bad shape because of persistent waterlogging, under-constructed pavements and garbage piled on the road.

Senior officials from different departments today conducted an inspection and prepared a joint action plan to rid the road from all perils and give the citizens a Diwali gift.

“The road in front of Buddha Smriti Park would be repaired by completing the pavement work, repairing damaged drains and removing litter. The road would be back in shape by October 24,” said Pratyay Amrit, secretary of road construction department.

Other officials present during the inspection included divisional commissioner of Patna K.P. Ramaiya, district magistrate of Patna Sanjay Kumar Singh, commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) Pankaj Kumar Pal and the executive officer of New Patna Circle of PMC, Shashank Shekhar Sharma, among others.

“We would raise the level of the pavement in such a way that the water would flow directly into the drainage chanels than stagnating on the road,” said Amrit.

“A stench always emanates on the stretch as people urinate and throw garbage here. I hope the authorities bring back the pride of this park,” said Subodh Kumar, a resident of Boring Road.
