Star in the making…
Is 16-year-old Raj, who has played in several district-level cricket tournaments and has been declared the man of the match on a number of occasions. He has also won the Man of the Series award once in 2009.
Brother’s wish…
Made Raj take up cricket in 2007, when he was only 11 years old. Raj’s elder brother Ravi Shekhar Singh dreams of seeing Raj becoming an international-level player. Ravi, who studied at DAV, BSEB, till Class X, participated in a state-level cricket tournament.
Initial training…
Under Ravi Shekhar Singh helped Raj get through Concept Cricket Academy in 2009. There he learnt the sport from Vishnu Shankar, the cricket coach.
Greatest support…
For Raj are his parents — Kamendra Prasad and Geeta Prasad.
Sport idols…
For Raj are Virat Kohli and Brett Lee. While he loves Virat’s fielding abilities, he is very impressed with Brett’s speed.
Achievements…
Of Raj include winning the man of the match award in an inter-school cricket tournament held in June this year. Raj has also played an inter-school cricket tournament, organised by Cricket Academy of Bihar, at Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in December last year.
Focus in studies…
Is another quality in Raj. He is as serious about his studies as he is about cricket.
