Barely a few months before the general elections, Bihar will get an international stage to tell its “inclusive growth” story in New Delhi next month.

Being a “partner state” for the 33rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) to be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, between November 14 and 27, Bihar would have its dedicated pavilion and eight food kiosks for serving indigenous cuisine.

The theme for the 33rd edition of the event, which is organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation every year, is “inclusive growth”.

The 1,780sqm pavilion will be decorated according to the theme and concept design and layout keeping in mind the tradition and culture of Bihar. A 10ft statue of Buddha would also be kept inside the pavilion.

“There would be 45 stalls on the ground floor to serve as display-cum-sale counters. Most display material at the 45 counters would be in the form of flex banners and demo products. Different state departments, like art and culture, infrastructure, road construction, industry, power, irrigation, education and social welfare among others would exhibit their projects. The final decision regarding the material to be put on display would be taken after a meeting with various departments, which would be chaired by the development commissioner,” said the Biada official.

Apart from the pavilion and food counters, the state day would be observed at the fair on November 23, which would be marked by cultural events, including folk dance, in the evening at Hamsadhwani open air theatre.
