Patna, Sept. 6: Tuesday was not like every other day for the students and faculty members of Chanakya National Law University. It was a day to relax, meet friends and teachers outside the hustle and bustle of classes, perform and be merry. For, today the law hub celebrated its sixth foundation day at Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir.
The chief guest at the foundation day celebration was Patna High Court Chief Justice Rekha M. Doshit. A. Lakshminath, the vice-chancellor of Chanakya National Law University, and the Chief Justice inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Other distinguished guests included Justice Shiv K.K. Singh and other high court judges.
Lakshminath said: “It is a great privilege to have the Chief Justice of Patna High Court with us today. I will recite the Ganesh Vandana so that the programme concludes without any obstacle and we can excel in whatever we do. Chanakya National Law University was established in 2006, and since then we have been growing each year. Our first batch has come out with flying colours and most of our students are doing very well and are highly placed in their profession. Today, I wish our students to do well in their studies and put the name of the college on the world map. I wish everyone a great success.”
The vice-chancellor also invited the guests from Patna High Court to take classes at the law hub so that the students could get a chance to interact with them and learn new things necessary in the profession.
Chief Justice Rekha M. Doshit, wishing the college and students a great success, said: “I am honoured to be the chief guest here and would love to be part of the faculty. I can not only teach the students but also learn new things from them. It can be a good interactive session.”
Doshit also encouraged the students to do well and come out with flying colours.
The celebrations included performances like classical songs and dances, bhajans, Marathi and Gujarati folk dances, skit, mime, group song, fusion dance and group dance.
Puroshottam Kumar Singh, a student of the college present today, said: “These programmes are essential as we get a chance to enjoy and take a break from our daily routine. We also get a chance to showcase our talents. It’s great to be part of the event, and I am enjoying every bit of the celebrations.”
