City boy Sudhir Sankalp is determined to add his name to the likes of Shatrughan Sinha, his daughter Sonakshi, Ravi Kissen and Neetu Chandra.
The 32-year-old performer has bagged a role in Rann Sangharsh, a Bollywood flick featuring actors like Riteish Deshmukh and Johnny Lever. Following a debut in Aditya Om’s Bandook, which released on January 18 this year, the actor is raring to perform with the already established actors.
On a visit to hometown Patna for a family wedding, Sudhir told The Telegraph: “After a struggle of almost eight years, I bagged the role in Bandook. The shoot of the film started in 2010. I play an important character in the film, that of Gullu, who encourages the lead actor to go ahead in life. The role ends in the second half with my murder. The film is a thought-provoking political thriller.”
He added that Bandook revolves around a man who believes guns are the only means to achieve power in society.
The actor, who completed his schooling from Sir GD Patliputra Uchcha Vidyalaya, entertained the people of Patna on stage for around eight years with more than 100 plays.
The geology honours passout from Magadh University said: “After my debut, I have been lucky to bag two more offers. I am doing Rann Sangharsh, along with Riteish Deshmukh and Johnny Lever in lead roles. The film will be directed by Ulhas Tayade and the shoot would start in March instead of January.”
On the reasons of delay, the DPS College passout said: “Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) is going on and Riteish is the captain of the Veer Marathi team. Until the CCL gets over, the shooting cannot commence. Riteish was unable to take out time for the film shoot.”
“I have a lot of expectations from my upcoming film. This is a major film that would decide my fate in Bollywood,” Sudhir added.
The Patna boy would also act opposite Prashant Narayan, who played the villain’s role in Murder 2 and also starred in Chhal.
“He is another fine actor I am going to work with in The Proposal, which would be directed by Sriram Dalton. The shoot would start in October this year. I cannot disclose the film plot. But it would surely be entertaining. It is just the beginning of my film career and I really want to make my parents feel proud about me,” said Sudhir.
His mother Ranjana Kumari is a school teacher and father Braj Mohan Prasad, a retired government employee.
The actor said: “The accuracy and perfection in my dialogue delivery is just because of my mother, who is a Hindi teacher. She has taught me so many things and is my role model.”
