Patna, Oct. 3: The sketch drive to nab chain snatchers has come as a disappointment for the police with senior officers not very happy with the public response.

Though the police claim of four arrests from two areas after people alerted them after seeing the sketches, the men-in-uniform said the drive has not been as successful as they had expected.

Early last month, increasing incidents of chain snatching prompted the police to start a drive to get the sketches of suspects drawn.

More than 24 sketches of suspects were drawn and circulated.

“The drive has not been able to make an impact as expected. We wanted the people to be alert and try and identify them but that has not happened,” Patna senior superintendent of police Alok Kumar said today.
