In the genre of T20s, the Rukmani Buildtech Social Premier League promises to be smarter, crispy, nail biting but with a social message attached.

Like in the cricket field, where no one is judged by his caste, the budding managers from Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) will hit boundaries with a pledge to wipe out caste discrimination from the state.

On the other hand, the would-be managers from Amity will campaign to “strengthen education in Bihar” at the Social Premier League starting from Friday.

The league, powered by Airtel, promises to be a tournament with a difference because the teams would convey social messages during the three-day event. The Telegraph is the media partner of the event.

CIMP students, during the matches and after, will campaign against caste discrimination, which they feel is the biggest social evil affecting the growth of the state.

CIMP skipper Amritesh, a first-year MBA student, said: “Through catchy posters and banners, we will campaign against caste discrimination. We have asked the girls to make flashy posters and banners with interesting taglines and suggestive messages against caste discrimination. The tagline will be written in Hindi so that it appeals to more people.”

Through the banners and posters, the students intend to spread the message that like in the game of cricket, where there is no discrimination on the basis of caste and religion, the society, too, should abolish any kind of bias on the basis of an individual’s identity.

After the matches, the CIMP students will take out a march to spread a message against caste discrimination.

Not lagging behind, Amity’s budding managers will also rely on banners and posters to “strengthen Bihar by education”.

Amity Global Business School, a private university having campuses in Noida, Lucknow, Gurgaon, Jaipur and poised to set up a full-fledged university — Amity University Bihar — in Bihar is one of the teams in SPL.

Its students, through banners and posters, will campaign on how in the past few years there has been a turnaround in the education sector after premier institutions such as IIT, BIT, CUB and private universities showed interest in setting up their campuses in Bihar.

Amity’s SPL team captain Amit Kumar said: “The new educational institutions in the state have not only helped in promoting education but has put a brake on students going outside the state to pursue higher education.”
