Patna: A day after calling RJD chief Lalu Prasad's shifting from AIIMS-New Delhi to RIMS in Ranchi an "inhuman act", the BJP's Patna Sahib MP Shatrughan Sinha on Thursday attacked party senior leader and deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi in a series of tweets.
He did not take Sushil Modi's name even once but there were enough hints. The tweets were addressed to Sir. It was also not clear who "Sir" was, but it looked like he meant the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The opening tweet read: "Sir! Your name sake, who is a very small time, non-recognizable, highly unpopular leader of my state, having lost any credibility or stature that he had by being singularly responsible for our party BJP's massive defeat in the last state elections, and whose only achievement..".
It was immediately followed by the second one which said: "..& favorite pastime is to criticise & spew venom about Lalu Prasad & his family, now has the audacity to suggest that BJP SHATRU should follow his mentor Y.Sinha - meaning that SHATRU should leave the party! Of course we all know that he himself is the biggest enemy of BJP.."
The Patna Sahib MP didn't stop at two and came up with three more scathing tweets. "...since he was responsible for our huge defeat in Bihar..& also know that the real SHATRU is a true party loyalist who had joined the party when it had only 2 Lok Sabha seats..& has contributed so much to the party and the nation over decades..."
"..the option, choice and prerogative. Nonetheless, the parties wisdom won't be questioned. But dear Sir! How can any Tom, Dick & Harry, specially the one we are talking about, who is neither my leader, not my voter, nor even my well wisher or my supporter, dictate terms &.."
"..make such statements on behalf of the party..please enlighten me! Hope, wish & pray good sense prevails upon him, of course through you & he stays KHAMOSH..else the public of Bihar put him in his place with a resounding slap before, during & after the coming elections.Jai Hind!
Later speaking to The Telegraph over phone from New Delhi, Shatrughan, without taking name of Sushil Modi, said that his tweets had come in response to a tweet in which he had been attacked by a Bihar BJP leader.
On April 21, the day Shatrughan attended a programme organised under the banner of national forum, which has been floated by former BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, Sushil Kumar Modi had come up with a tweet which said: "Without waiting for expulsion all 'Shatru' of BJP shud also quit following foot steps of their mentor."
Reached out for a comment on the series of tweets which the BJP MP had made and which clearly hinted that he was attacking him only, Sushil Modi refused to join the issue. "I have to say nothing on this issue," he quipped.
