Bhagalpur, July 11: BJP national spokesperson and Bhagalpur MP Shahnawaz Hussain on Thursday said he would move a privilege motion against officials concerned for preventing his entry into Mahabodhi Mahavihara and misbehaving with a public representative on Wednesday.

Shahnawaz alleged that the bureaucrats in Bihar are irresponsible and have started insulting public representatives openly.

“One sub-divisional officer and one deputy superintendent of police prevented me from entering the temple premises. They said no one would be allowed since Congress p resident Sonia Gandhi was inside. I, too, am an MP like Soniaji, they should not stop me,” he said.

“It was a clear case of insult to a MP. The National Security Guards did not stop me. It was the Bihar government employees,” he added.

“When there is no respect for public representatives by the government in Bihar, how can you expect good things from the bureaucrats?” he asked.

Shahnawaz said the BJP does not want get involved in politics over the Bodhgaya blasts but since it was a direct insult to a constitutional post, he would move the privilege motion against the erring district administration.
