The state cabinet on Tuesday allocated land to set up a science hub in Patna.
“The cabinet today (Tuesday) transferred 15.56 acres at Saidpur Musallah area (near Bazaar Samiti) to the science and technology department to set up a regional science centre or a science city,” cabinet co-ordination department principal secretary Ravikant said, adding that the project details were being worked out.
A senior science and technology department officer pointed out that a science city would be constructed on the land. “It would not be regional science centre,” he said.
The cabinet also approved a loan of Rs 800 crore as a working capital at the rate of nine per cent to Bihar State Food Corporation for wheat procurement in the rabi crop season of the current financial year.
Besides, the cabinet approved a proposal to construct a new bypass road around Darbhanga town at an estimated cost of Rs 72.66 crore. The road would be completed in the next fiscal.
