
Patna, Dec. 5: Vibrant cultural programmes, fun and frolic ruled the annual day celebration of St Michael's High School and International School this evening.
Tiny tots to senior secondary students showed their talent with zeal and enthusiasm.
Union minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy was the chief guest at St Michael's School. Also, the school had invited Sanjay Shrivastava,the director of National Institute of Fashion and Technology, Patna, as the guest of honour.
Toddlers from the primary section of St Michael's High School presented a dance act - Tour of the World - sharing the message of peace and harmony, while senior secondary students presented a skit on unity in diversity.
Prizes were given to students who excelled in various co-curricular activities and academics. Abhyuday Kashyap, Salman Mozaffar and Vivek Kaushal got the Best Michaelite award, Karishma Das got Best School Captain award and the Most Creative Student award was bagged by Aamir Rizwanand Priyanshu.
Rajiv Pratap Rudy appreciated the performances and congratulated them.
"I wish all the students luck in their strides to reach their goals," Rudy said.
He also shared his experience as being an ex-Michaelite. School principal Peter Arockiasamy and vice-principal Armstrong were present on the occasion.
The programme at International School was inaugurated by Patna high court judge Samrendra Pratap Singh, state finance minister Abdul Bari Siddiqui, state transport minister Chandrika Rai and others.
Students presented an array of cultural events. The theme - unity in diversity - was kept up with fervour and students recited verses from the Bible, Bhagvad Gita, Quran and the Granth. The tiny tots presented a heart-warming skit, which reflected the bond between a father and child.
The theme-based dance drama - Fading Humanity - sensitised the audience and a dance performance on wheels (students danced on rollerskates) mesmerised the audience. The students showcased dance performances on Rajasthani, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Haryanvi, Arabic and Russian forms.
Focusing on the 25-year journey of International School, director Farhat Hassan said: "Since the establishment of the school, it has been a wonderful journey. We have grown with each passing year. The experiences have helped us excel in our motto - We care. Every year, the students face new challenges, but they successfully find solutions to reach new heights of achievements."?
The meritorious students were honoured with trophies, certificates and cash prizes for outstanding performances in various fields.
Samrendra Pratap Singh said: "Students should develop discipline and learn education skills that suit the changing scenario of the society."
He stressed that students utilise the opportunities made available to them in computer technology and enhance education levels in order to become outstanding citizens of the future.
