Motihari, Jan. 14: National spokesperson of RSS Ram Madhav today said religious fanaticism has once divided the nation and it is unfortunate that the government is heading in the same direction.
He was speaking at a seminar on a national subject, “Aatankvaad ki rajniti” (politics of terrorism) held under the banner of Sanskriti Utthan Samiti at the local Zila School auditorium here on Friday.
Central reserve police force (CRPF) commandant, P.C. Bhuriya, inaugurated the seminar. In his address, he said that it is the duty of everyone to be loyal to the nation. He urged every citizen of the country to be dedicated to the nation.
On his maiden visit to Champaran, Madhav warned the people against terrorism and said that it was the biggest threat to the nation today. He added the threat lurking over India’s sovereignty should be fought unitedly. The RSS national spokesperson lamented the “vote-bank politics” which has become popular day by day under the present government and added that because of this, the government is yet to punish a terrorist who was held guilty for a major terrorist attack on the Parliament and was sentenced by the court. Speaking on the occasion, Madhav charged the central government for defaming a nationalist organisation like RSS under a conspiracy. “Whether it were incidents of bomb blast on Samjhauta Express or the Malegaon blast, the RSS had nothing to do with them. But under a hatched conspiracy the people associated with the RSS were roped into the case,” he said.
Madhav added that the RSS had always been a propounder of nationalist and healthy thoughts. He added that the waiver of Prevention of Terrorist Act (Pota), which was enacted to deal with the terrorist offences in the country, was the biggest blunder of the Indian government.
Also present were local MLA Pramod Kumar, Nagar Parishad chairman Prakash Asthana and Vinay Kumar Verma. BJP and Bajrang Dal activists like Narain Prasad, Lal Babu Prasad, Ashok Kumar, Amit Tewari, Vijay Jaiswal and Ajay Upadhayaya were also present.
