Chhapra, June 10: Union skill development minister Rajiv Pratap Rudi said the need of the hour is "better-equipped training institutes".

"I have studied the status and facilities of training institutions of Australia and New Zealand. The need is to modernise training facilities in India and Bihar also. Students here are getting training in adverse conditions and paucity of faculties has hindered progress," Rudy said while visiting his constituency on Wednesday.

The minister had inspected Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Madhaura on Tuesday evening.

He added that in the first phase, 13 such institutes in Bihar, including the one at Madhaura, would be fully developed for better training and upgrade of skills to students. "Later, all the 12,000 ITIs of the country would be attached to the skill development ministry and upgraded," he added.
