The mains entrance test for Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya will be held in objective format and not subjective, the Bihar School Examination Board has decided with only 12 days to go for the exam.
BSEB took the decision on Tuesday; the exam is on August 13.
The mains were to be held in the subjective format to test the candidates' knowledge following the preliminary test - which is held in objective - results. But the BSEB changed the format, contending that objective questions will bring more transparency.
The school principal has expressed displeasure at the decision and said an objective examination will not test a candidate's proficiency in grammar, knowledge of the subject and writing skills."
The students are also not pleased, because so long they prepared for subjective questions. One of the students also said if the mains are being conducted in August, classes will not start before October or November.
