Gaya, Oct. 17: A group of over 50 suspected Maoists attacked Baghauta village in the district’s Sherghati sub-division and killed a resident late last night.
The body of Santosh Yadav, who was abducted by the Maoists, was found from a place in Jharkhand’s Chatra district today.
According to sources, the Maoists reached Baghauta under Kothi police station in a tractor and two motorcycles around 11pm yesterday. They ransacked the house of Santosh, a farmer, looted valuables and set the house ablaze before taking him away with them.
Santosh’s body was found this morning at Navratanpur village in Chatra. The sources said his body had marks of bullet wounds.
The sources added that Santosh was killed for his alleged association with the Tritiya Prastuti Committee, a frontal organisation of the Communist Party of India(Maoist).
