Railway passengers must be cautious before boarding their trains from the stations in the city on the day of BJP’s Hunkar Rally on October 27.

A high-level meeting was held on October 23 between Danapur divisional railway manager N.K. Gupta and additional director-general (rail), Bihar, P.N. Roy to chalk out arrangements for the convenience of railway passengers at Patna Junction in view of the expected rush.

A senior official of the Danapur division said: “Eleven trains have been booked for the rally and there will be huge rush at the railway station. So, we would restrict entry of vehicles and passengers from the Hanuman temple side between 8am and midnight. Even parking would be restricted. All passengers and vehicles would have to use the Karbighaiya end for that purpose.”

The railways has made a separate arrangement for the rallyists. All 11 rally special trains would depart from platform number one. “The decision was taken to ensure giving least trouble to other passengers. Rallyists would just have to walk to platform number one and catch their trains. Rallyists cannot use the foot overbridge causing trouble to regular passengers.”

All mail and express trains coming from the Delhi side would halt at Danapur station from 8am to midnight. Similarly, mail and express trains coming from the Howrah side would halt at Rajendra Nagar railway station in the same time period.

But all passengers’ trains going towards Howrah would depart from platform number one of Patna Junction and halt at platform number four of Rajendra Nagar railway station.

Passenger and puja special trains towards Delhi would depart from platform numbers four and five of Patna Junction and passenger trains going towards Gaya would depart from platform number 10. Similarly, mail and express trains towards Gaya would depart from platform numbers eight and nine of Patna railway station.

Turnout claim

The BJP has claimed that the Hunkar Rally would break all records of rallies in Bihar as the people are waiting eagerly to listen to its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

“People from all sections of society have shown interest in attending the rally. Members of the Nishad community have booked more than 200 boats to reach Patna by crossing the Ganga,” said BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain.
