Senior history teacher of Patna University Bharti S. Kumar will retire on Saturday.

Bharti, who has 42 years of teaching experience in Patna University, had joined Patna Women’s College in 1971. After serving the college for 18 years, she was shifted to the postgraduate department of Patna University in 1989. She served the university for 23 years.

The former head of the history department and dean of faculty of social science, Bharti was also the first elected member of the university syndicate. On the academic condition of the university, Bharti said: “It (the university) is no longer the institution I had joined 42 years ago.”
