Patna, May 30: Private schools are not meant for the privileged class only. Underprivileged families and government schoolteachers also send their children to these schools. Private Schools and Children Welfare Association claimed this today.

Addressing a seminar on “The role of private schools in building the nation” at a city hotel, the president of Private Schools and Children Welfare Association Shamael Ahmad said: “Most of the private schools in the state, including Ishan International School, Beauty Public School, Don Bosco Academy, St Micheal’s High School, St Paul’s School, Hajipur, are part of this association. Our motto is to provide quality education to children whose families cannot afford to send them to private schools.”

Ahmad said: “These schools would help in providing quality education to the children coming from poor families as people trust the private schools more than the government institutions.”

Arthur Alam, an advocate of the Supreme Court, said: “Education is the most indispensable part of life. Article 21 (A) of the Constitution states that free and compulsory education is the right of all children between six and 14 years. However, the government schools generally fail to provide quality education.”

He added the seminar deals with the reality that education should be provided to all students, irrespective of which section of the society they belong to. “Many private schools are part of the association and they believe in imparting education to those who cannot afford quality education to their children.”

Shail Verma, principal of Delhi Cambridge School, said: “The role of education cannot be ignored in the society but quality too is important.”
