| RJD state president Ram Chandra Purbey and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui (right) address a news meet in Patna on Sat-urday. Siddiqui took a dig at chief minister Nitish Kumar for praising Ranvir Yadav, an ex-MLA and husband of Khagaria legislator Poonam Yadav, seen brandishing a carbine and a lathi during the chief minister’s Adhikar Yatra. “While addressing a public gathering during an Adhikar Yatra rally in Saharsa on Friday, the chief minister thanked Poonam and his husband, Ranvir, for protecting his life in Khagaria,” Siddiqui said. “Nitish’s statement is the result of his frustration with people’s anger that he has been facing at meetings. It indicates that he does not have any faith left in the police administration,” he added. Text by Anand Raj, picture by Ranjeet Kumar Dey |
