Patna Electric Supply Undertaking building |
Residents in Patna can hope to enjoy uninterrupted power supply this summer with Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (Pesu) carrying out necessary maintenance of feeders and cables.
The steps taken by Pesu included replacement of faulty and dilapidated transmission and distribution lines under its jurisdiction, replacing the overloaded transformers, installation of additional transformers, increasing the capacity of power sub-stations, expediting the drive to check electricity theft among others. “We have initiated a number of measures to provide the unabated power supply to the people of the state capital. We just need to speed up all these measures probably before April,” Pesu general manager-cum-chief engineer Vijay Kumar said.
“We have already doubled the capacity of more than a dozen power sub-stations from 5MVA to 10MVA last year. At present, we focus on to enhance the capacity of another seven-eight sub-stations before the summer,” Kumar said. The power sub stations whose capacity has been enhanced from 5MVA to 10MVA are Danapur, Cattle feed, Rajapur and Jakkanpur.
