Patna, Aug. 18: Rohtas police today claimed to have made a breakthrough in connection with the loot of Rs 7.5 lakh from the employees of an authorised dealer of two-wheelers at Sasaram on July 12.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team last night conducted raids on different hideouts of the criminals.
Rohtas superintendent of police (SP) Manu Maharaj said four persons, including the mastermind of the loot Vishal Kumar, were arrested.
The cops seized Rs 25,000 from Kumar, who along with his two associates Pankaj Giri and Md Taukir, had hatched the conspiracy to commit the crime. A country-made pistol, five live cartridges besides Rs 25,000 were recovered from Giri, he added. The police also seized Rs 35,000, a country-made pistol and five live cartridges from Taukir. Taukir’s associate Santosh Seth, who worked at the dealers’ workshop, was also taken into custody, the SP added.
“Raids are on to arrest two other accused persons identified as Saroj Kumar and Manoj Kumar,” he said, adding that the criminals had snatched the money from the employees near Diliyan when they were going to deposit the money in the bank.
