Patna: Pilgrims in Patna City for the concluding or thanksgiving ceremony of the 350th Prakash Utsav are all praise for arrangements made by the Bihar government.

"Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has done a great job. Such arrangements cannot be made anywhere else," Paramjeet Kaur from Chicago told Patna divisional commissioner Anand Kishor who was inspecting the arrangements. "It is like we are not in Bihar but in Punjab. It's really heaven out here," Kaur said.

Kripal Singh Kushaal Singh and Harjeet Kaur from Haryana and Amrik Singh from Amritsar, who interacted with Kishor in the D, E and F blocks of Bypass tent city, expressed similar thoughts.

"The arrangements were very good when we came last year. But this year they are even better. Nitish ji definitely has the wahe Guru's blessings," said Kripal.

Kishor said the chief minister was monitoring every arrangement and officials executing work under his guidance. He inspected the Bypass Tent City, Kangan Ghat and the Gatka area where Gatka, a traditional martial art form associated with Sikh gurus, will be performed on Monday.

Kishor asked the management of Girdhari Lal and Sons, who have made arrangements in the tent city, to ensure 500 chairs for VIPs and 500 plastic chairs for the Gatka.

He also told Bihar State Road Transport Corporation chief administrator Choudhary Anant Narayan to ensure people returning after shukrana do not face problems on the free buses the state government has deployed.

The divisional commissioner found lack of cleanliness in the A and C blocks of the tent city and immediately asked K.D. Prajwal, deputy secretary of the urban development and housing department, to ensure cleaning and sprinkling of bleaching powder.

He pointed out water leakage problems in the tent city's D and G blocks and also asked for regular supply of water in the toilets in every block.

Kishor, Patna district magistrate (DM) Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Vaishali DM Rachna Patil, Vaishali superintendent of police Rakesh Kumar and others ate at the langar and met organisers Mahinder Singh and Indrajeet Singh. Two lakh people at at the langar on Monday, they were told.
