Patna, April 10: Bihar Human Rights Commission(BHRC) today directed the home department to pay a compensation of Rs 30,000 within two months to one Rampratap Kushwaha for his illegal arrest by Bagha police under West Champaran district in 2013.
Kushwaha had complained to BHRC that the court of first class judicial magistrate, Bagaha had issued summons for his attendance and it was sent to Dhanha police station. When the petitioner was at his shop, the ASI of Dhanha police station, Umesh Kumar Singh, arrested him. When the petitioner's father requested the SHO for his son's release both the cops demanded Rs 20,000.
