Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic & Persian University on Monday organised a lecture session on the topic, Communal Harmony, on Teachers Day on their Patliputra campus.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest and Islamic scholar Abu Naseer Farook said teachers have a great role in spreading communal harmony. Farook said: "By his teaching, a teacher can bring new thoughts among students. When they grow up, the students will carry forward the teachings." The scholar stated that it is the duty of teachers to provide knowledge and that there is no space for violence and hatred in Islam.

Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic & Persian University vice-chancellor Ezaz Ali Arshad said the main aim of education should be development and betterment of society. The VC emphasised the need on moral education and technical education in schools and colleges.

Book release

Governor Ram Nath Kovind on Monday stressed the need of protecting and strengthening regional languages.

Kovind was speaking on a book release function organised by the National Book Trust where five books on regional languages Magahi, Bhojpuri and Maithili were released at Karpoori Thakur seminar hall at Bihar Museum.

The governor said: "The National Book Trust should publish large number of books on regional languages, including Magahi, Bhojpuri and Maithili, so that people get an opportunity to read books on these regional languages."

Speaking on the occasion, National Book Trust chairman Baldev Bhai Sharma said their organisation is committed to development of regional languages. Speaking on the occasion, Scholars from Hindi, Magahi, Bhojpuri and Maithili languages attended the function.
