Patna, Feb. 11: Film director Nikhil Advani seems to have hit a sixer by choosing to release Patiala House this month.

With ICC World Cup round the corner, spectators thronged theatres in hordes to watch the film in which Akshay Kumar plays a cricket player.

Two theatres — Mona and Regent —are screening the film and both recorded huseful shows on the first day of the film’s release.

Many spectators said they loved Akshay’s acting in the film and are keen to watch it again.

Ram Raj Mani, a resident of Kankerbagh, has just finished watching the first show and said was going for a second show at Regent theatre.

He told The Telegraph: This is one of the best films of Akshay Kumar that I have seen. He has played his part well. His last film Tees Mar Khan was horrible. I saw the film because I liked the song Sheela Ki Jawani. However, Patiala House is a great film to watch.”

He said: “The Word Cup is round the corner and this film has added more fervour to it. I liked his bowling style very much.”

. The best part of the film is when Akshay Kumar is bowling the last over of the match and his father who never liked his son's passion for the game, arrives at the stadium.”
