Patna: Union minister for consumer affairs, food and public distribution Ram Vilas Paswan has ruled out the possibility of having a tie-up with the Grand Alliance.
Paswan on Friday said there is no possibility of any alliance with the RJD and the Congress.
Paswan's comment comes after former Union minister and senior RJD leader, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, on Thursday said several parties are to join the Grand Alliance in the coming days.
The RJD leader also went out saying that the LJP led by Ram Vilas Paswan and RLSP led by Upendra Kushwaha are set to join the Grand Alliance.
Raghuvansh on Friday said in the coming days the NDA would split and Ram Vilas Paswan, who is country's "most-accurate weather forecaster", knew that the NDA under Prime Minister Narendra Modi would return to power after the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, is making way to joining the Grand Alliance.
Paswan said: "There is no possibility of joining the Grand Alliance and I refute such statements made by Raghuvansh Prasad Singh."
The LJP leader questioned Raghuvansh's offer at a time when the second generation leaders of the RJD (read Tejashwi and Tej Pratap) are abusing them.
Paswan said there are no differences among the NDA partners on seat sharing and it will be sorted out when senior leaders of all constituent parties of the NDA sit together.
Paswan said: "I am optimistic that the NDA will remain united and my work is to cement the NDA."
His statement that the NDA shall remain united, assumes importance because earlier several RJD and Congress leaders have hinted that before the 2019 elections several parties from the NDA will walk out and join the Grand Alliance. Tejashwi Yadav on several occasions had hinted that the RLSP may join the RJD, however, Kushwaha maintained a distance from such offers. Also senior state Congress leadership, including state party in-charge Shakti Sinh Gohil, has recently spoken about the revival of the Grand Alliance.
Gohil said the Grand Alliance can be revived only if Nitish Kumar cuts ties with the NDA. But Tejashwi has also asserted that doors for Nitish Kumar have been permanently shut for any kind of alliance.
On the other hand, the LJP chief congratulated the Union government's decision to hike the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of 14 crops.
"The government's decision to hike the MSP of crops is a welcome step. Farmers will benefit immensely because for most of the crops, the MSP has been raised by 50 percent," Paswan said.
The LJP on July 10 will celebrate the government's decision by observing Kishan Divas at the district headquarters across the state.
