| People coming from Gandhi Maidan had a harrowing time on Exhibition Road in Patna on Monday because of the Lok Janshakti Party’s 12th foundation day celebrations. The party had chosen Gandhi Maidan as its venue to celebrate the occasion. Major roads blocked on Monday included the Dakbungalow roundabout and Frazer Road. At the function, LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan virtually passed on the baton to his son, Chirag, who took the centrestage, attacking the Nitish Kumar government with youthful gusto. “If the government is talking about development and jobs, why are people from Bihar migrating to other states for livelihood?” Chirag asked. On the other hand, several LJP supporters, who came to the city from far-off places for the rally, were unhappy with party workers. One of them said the party activists, who had brought her and many others, did not keep their promise of giving them cash and food for the trip. Picture by Deepak Kumar n See Page 15 |
