Pact for technology transfer to farmers

Muzaffarpur, Sept. 11: Rajendra Agriculture University is set to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Jhapha in the district for transferring agriculture technologies to the people in the countryside.

The transfer of the technologies is aimed at providing economic and nutritional security to the villagers. According to the MoU, the CRPF would facilitate the safe transfer of latest machineries to the villagers.

The ministry of home affairs has opened up the group centre of the CRPF in Muzaffarpur to flush out the Maoist threat in the north Bihar districts situated close to the Nepal border. The CRPF personnel are deployed in every Maoist-affected pockets of north Bihar and the CRPF personnel will be trained with agriculture technology and research to deliver goods and guide the villagers.

Vice-chancellor of Rajendra Agriculture University, Pusa, Mewa Lal Choudhary told The Telegraph that talks with the CRPF are in a decisive stage and the MoU would be signed soon.

Choudhary was here to distribute certificates among 37 prisoners and undertrials at Khudiram Bose Central Jail, Muzaffarpur, for their successful completion of five days training of integrated mushroom farming and spawn production.
