Patna, Nov. 25: Opposition parties in the state today challenged chief minister Nitish Kumar’s annual report card, describing it as a bundle of statistical jugglery.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has decided to bring out its parallel report card on the affairs of the state tomorrow.
Asked about it, RJD chief Lalu Prasad said: “Our party will release a factual report card on the real situation prevailing in the state tomorrow. Our report card will expose Nitish’s drama and false promises to the people.”
The leader of Opposition in the state Assembly, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, described the official report card as a replica of statistical jugglery.
“Nitish has claimed that 33 lakh of the total 50 lakh applications received under the Right to Information Act had been disposed of within the last three months. What is the fate of the applications received earlier?”
Siddiqui added that the report card did not mention the action taken against the officials who had failed to deliver the goods within the stipulated timeframe under the Right to Service Act.
He said cases of murder, dacoity and other cognisable offences had increased manifold but the official report card did not reflect them.
Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan dubbed the report card as a “bundle of lies”.
“The statistical details in the report card are a bundle of lies. The figures are false and fudged. Nitish’s report card reflected his own toll claims, far removed from what is taking place on the ground.”
Congress leader Premchand Mishra also rubbished the annual report card, terming it an eyewash. “The report is just an eyewash and nothing concrete is given in it. The way he is taking the credit for constructing the roads in the state, he should have mentioned how much money was invested by the central government. He is just taking credit for those schemes which were sponsored by the central government,” Mishra said.
