Officer dead

A judicial officer, Arun Kumar Jha, was killed and three others, including his wife and mother, were badly injured when a car in which they were travelling met with an accident on National Highway-57 that connects Darbhanga with Muzaffarpur in Darbhanga district on Sunday.

Patna: A judicial officer, Arun Kumar Jha, was killed and three others, including his wife and mother, were badly injured when a car in which they were travelling met with an accident on National Highway-57 that connects Darbhanga with Muzaffarpur in Darbhanga district on Sunday.

While 63-year-old Jha died on the spot, his wife Reeta Jha, 58, mother Shakuntala Devi, 82, and driver Suresh Kumar, 40, suffered injuries in the mi-shap, which occurred on the busy road in front of Bhalpatti police outpost. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Darbhanga.

Darbhanga additional superintendent of police Dilnawaz Ahmad said the driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a turn on the road and hit the divider causing injuries to the occupants. Jha was a judge in the family court at Khagaria.
