Patna, July 3: Amitabh Pandey, father of two students of Notre Dame Academy, was today elected the president of the parents’ and teachers’ association at the annual general meeting for the academic session 2011-2012.

The other office bearers of the body elected today included Shahina Khan as secretary, Shakina Hussain as vice-president, Amrita Bhushan as treasurer, Shabana Hassan as language representative and Sunita Prakash as sports secretary. Leena Lal was re-elected as public relations officer. All office bearers are parents.

Pandey said: “I will try to do everything for the welfare of the school.”

Former president Mansi Kanoria presented a report on the activities organised by the school last year. Former secretary Neeta Chowdhary made a PowerPoint presentation on the activities conducted by the association.

Principal Sister Mary Tessy inducted the new students’ council of the school. Twisha Shrivastava was selected the president of the council, while Mehul Raje and Somya Anand were made secretary and treasurer.

Sister Mary said: “I expect the parents to co-operate with us in the future as well for the welfare of the children and the school. The activities that have been organised till date need to be appreciated.”

Class XII board exam toppers were also felicitated at the meeting.
