Patna: The alumni of St Michael's High School relieved their memories with a cricket match on their alma mater's campus on Sunday.

The match was played between President XI and President Elect XI which the latter won. The President XI team led by Shailender Luthra set a target of 82 runs in 10 overs, which the President Elect XI led by Sushil Kumar surpassed in nine overs. The best batsman and bowler awards were won by Rakesh Kumar and Sushil Kumar, respectively.

Dr Manish Mandal, medical superintendent, Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, an alumni, said the match was organised instead of a traditional alumni meet because everyone wanted to chill with friends. "In today's match, the senior-most batch was that of 1969 while among juniors the 1998 batch of students took part," said Mandal.

Mandal said the alumni association had issued health cards to all present students and teachers. "The alumni who are doctors are supposed to conduct health camps on an annual basis for students and teachers," said Mandal.

Dr Vikas Shankar, an alumni member, asked other members to help poor students.

Sushil Kumar was announced as the new president, while Dr Ashutosh Trivedi and Dr Rakesh Kumar were declared vice-president and secretary, respectively. Dr Vikas Shankar was declared the treasurer while Dr Satyajit Sinha was declared the president-elect for the year 2019-20.
