Arms seizure in raids

Gaya: Security personnel recovered 40 detonators, nine hand-grenades, 50 half-prepared hand grenades, three rifles, a computer set, four walkie talkies, Naxalite literature and other items during raids conducted in the hilly areas of Lutua and Chhakarbandha under Imamganj police station late on Saturday evening. he raids continued till Sunday morning. During the raids carried out jointly by CoBRA battalion, CRPF and the district armed police, the personnel also destroyed three bunkers of Maoists.

Explosives

Gaya: Around 100 packets of explosives weighing 1kg each were recovered on Saturday evening. The packets were kept at the bottom of a hill near Abgila under Mufassil police station area.

CM approval

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday expressed satisfaction over the progress made to set up a proposed campus of Aligarh Muslim University at Chakla village in Kishanganj.

CBI probe cry

Patna: The BJP on Sunday claimed it was willing to request the state government to recommend for a CBI probe in the murder of Brahmeshwar “Mukhiya”. The party’s Bihar president C.P. Thakur took a dig at RJD chief Lalu Prasad for showing sympathy for “Mukhiya”. Thakur also praised director-general of police Abhayanand for showing restraint during the disturbances in Patna.

Medical rank

Patna: Akshat Suman, son of noted orthopaedic surgeon Dr Amulya Kumar Singh, has secured 127th all India rank in the CBSE-All India Pre Medical Test, the results of which was declared on Saturday.

Protest

Patna: More than 100 people on Sunday under the banner of Nagrik Pratirodh Manch took out a protest march denouncing the Nitish Kumar government for its alleged failure to provide justice to victims of the Forbesganj firing incident.

BEd forms

Patna: Patna University has invited applications for BEd course of Patna Training College and Women’s Training College. Forms will be sold from the respective colleges on all working days from June 4 to 25. The entrance test is on July 18.

Workshop

Patna: A workshop for students of MEd (session 2012-14) of Indira Gandhi National Open University was held at the postgraduate department of Patna University on Sunday.
