Navlesh Pathak gets bail

Patna: Journalist Navlesh Pathak, an accused in the Purnea BJP MLA Raj Kishore Keshari murder case was granted regular mandatory bail by special CBI judicial magistrate, Patna, Krishna Kumar on Friday.BI could not file a chargesheet against Navlesh after expiry of 90 days. He has been in jail from January 7.

Arrest

Patna: Six criminals were arrested for extorting Rs 10 lakh from one Iqbal Masood alias Bobby, a doctor based under Sultanganj police station area.

Grants

Patna: The animal husbandry and fisheries department on Friday distributed grants among 16 cowshed owners. Each owner was given around Rs 5 lakh-Rs 6 lakh.

Sentence

Gopalganj: Fast track court judge V.P. Mishra on Friday awarded life sentence to three persons on the charge of murder and attempt to murder.

Life term

Gopalganj: Additional district judge 3 Vinay Kumar Singh on Friday awarded life imprisonment to eight persons on charges of kidnapping.

Arms’ recovery

Gaya: During an anti-Naxalite operation, police recovered at least 32 quintals of explosives packed in 32 bags from an abandoned bunker at Mahubania village under Bankebazaar police station area.

FIR

Chhapra: An FIR was lodged against the former civil surgeon Subhas Chandra Sharma and Manoj Pandey on charges of swindling Rs 25 lakh in connection with ambulance service.

Couple held

Siwan: A couple was arrested six years after they eloped. Munni Kumari would be produced in court while Shamsul Miya was sent to jail. Munni’s father had lodged an FIR against Shamsul for abducting his daughter six years ago.

CBSE test

Patna: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test on June 26 this year. The Union HRD ministry has given CBSE the responsibility to conduct the exam.
