Acid sale rule

Patna: The cabinet approved the Bihar Poisons Possession and Sale Rules, 2014, to regulate the sale of acid in the state, cabinet department principal secretary Brajesh Mehrotra said, adding that the rules had been framed in accordance with provisions of the Poisons Act, 1919. he cabinet also approved the urban development and housing department's proposal to frame Bihar Urban Planning and Development Rule, 2014, for planned and integrated development of cities.

Girl stabbed

Gopalganj: Pintu Rai, a resident of Bishnupur village, allegedly stabbed a girl to death on Wednesday night. Pintu, who had harassed the girl earlier and was reprimanded for his action, also stabbed the girl’s family members.

Forum plea

Patna: A high court division bench on Thursday directed the government to file an affidavit with information on steps taken to improve the infrastructure at the state-level and district-level consumer forums and the appointment of a regular cadre of employees.

Student fury

Gopalganj: Students on Thursday burnt furniture and several documents at Nagina Rai Inter College at Sher village for registering 120 students against admission of 1,025 candidates.

Patna: Congress spokesperson Rakesh Kumar on Thursday claimed that chief minister Nitish Kumar was taking action against only lower-level employees in corruption cases but nothing to catch the senior officers.

Ex-cop in net

Patna: The vigilance investigation bureau on Thursday submitted chargesheet against the former sub-inspector of Alamganj police station, Chandrabhanu Singh. ingh was nabbed red-handed on November 20, 2013, while accepting Rs 6,000 from one Enyat Ali.

Bank branches

Patna: Canara Bank has opened three new branches. Two branches were opened in Sheikhpura and one in Nalanda.

Patna: The vigilance unit of Patna Municipal Corporation on Thursday issued a notice to Mokama MLA Anant Singh to submit a reply in regard to a case against a hotel located at Srikrishna Puri.
