Driver averts mishap

Munger: A train accident was averted on Wednesday afternoon after the engine driver noticed a burning parcel bogie of 13132 Anand Vihar-Kolkata Express train at the Rajla halt between Jhajha and Jasidih stations. he driver immediately stopped the train and detached the passenger bogies.

Inquiry team

Patna: The IIT-Patna has constituted an inquiry committee for examining the circumstances leading to the sudden death of Rupesh Kumar Pandey.

Patna: A 15-year-old youth was burnt to death by a mob on Wednesday night at Mohanpur village in Rohtas. The deceased has been identified as Sai Ram.

Patna: Airwil Infra Pvt. Ltd , a Noida-based real estate company, has unveiled plans of investing in Bihar. Its director, Vikash Bhagat, said the company was seeking help and support of the government to set up residential complexes and malls in different cities in the state. he company formally inaugurated its office at Patna on Wednesday.

Salary plea

Patna: The Old Secretariat Staff Association on Wednesday requested chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi for the early release of the October salary so that they could celebrate Chhath better.

Bribe cuffs

Patna: Vigilance sleuths arrested Bhola Paswan, the Roh circle officer in Nawada district, on Wednesday while he was taking Rs 4,000 as bribe for disposing of a land dispute petition.

RBI event

Patna: The Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday organised a financial literacy and awareness programme for students of Dumaria High School in Gopalganj district. RBI manager-cum-lead district officer Pravin Kumar and school principal Shivendra Kumar were present at the inauguration.

Condolence

Patna: Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee president Ashok Choudhary on Wednesday condoled the demise of the wing’s chief accountant and freedom fighter Dwarika Prasad Chaupal. He was 84. Chaupal is survived by two sons and grandchildren.
