Patna: Ward councillors and mayors of various municipal corporations and councils across the state took part in a meeting organised by the Bihar State Urban Local Bodies Council on Sunday. he participants raised objections to various measures of the state government, which allegedly interfere in the working of urban local bodies and take away rights of the civic bodies.

Patna: Former chief minister and the chairperson of LN Mishra Institute of Economic Development and Social Change, Jagannath Mishra, on Sunday praised Governor D.Y. Patil and welcomed the move to appoint 10 vice-chancellors and 10 pro-vice-chancellors.

Warrants

Patna: Eighty-one warrants were executed in a special drive launched by cops on Saturday, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Manu Maharaj said. He said 35 people had been arrested and four country-made pistols, six live cartridges, 495 litres of illegal liquor and cash were seized.
