Rush and tension over admission would be less for guardians this season with four new CBSE-affiliated schools set to open doors in the city.

The schools have promised to come up with better infrastructure, qualified teachers and equal involvement in extra-curricular activities and academics.

Indirapuram Public School for girls, which is coming up at Khagaul Road, will be the first in the city to have an all-woman staff on its rolls. The school is a sister wing of Radiant International School under Tapindu Educational Society, a charitable organisation. The school, spread across 5 acres, will offer activities like horse riding, world scholar's cup, swimming, dancing and aerobics.

Kalpana Thakur, senior in-charge of the school, said admission for LKG to Class VI would continue till February. "The school is the franchise of Indirapuram School, Ghaziabad. Most of the teaching staff are from Delhi and well experienced. The school strives not only to bring about academic excellence but also character-building and creating responsible individuals who will prove to be valuable for the society."

Bishop Scott Boys' School is also ready for the new academic session starting first week of April.

School director Shailesh Prasad Singh said the infrastructure of the school - admissions are open from LKG to Class VIII - is similar to Christ University of Bangalore. "The teachers are from Loreto Convent Entally (Calcutta), DPS RK Puram (Delhi) and Gwalior. We are offering activities like archery, volleyball, basketball, shooting and horse riding. We have bought two horses from Sonepur mela," Shailesh added. "I hope the school will flourish just like Bishop Scott Girls' School." The school will come up at Chainpur, Bypass road, across 3.5 acres.

Asha Nutan, principal, Pilani World School, another start-up, said the registration is open and the school building is ready for the new session. "The 3-acre school has safe AC classrooms with modern teaching equipment and facilities. Closed-circuit television cameras are positioned at entrances and exits primarily to complement the non-invasive security system," she said.

The school - under Trinity Global School - was inaugurated on December 27, and has facilities like a mathematics lab, language lab, digital learning and smart class, and botanical garden.

Under the aegis of DPS World Foundation, DPS World School will also make its debut in Patna.

"Nowadays, it is just difficult to find good schools, especially in a city like Patna where there are only a dozen good schools," said Sumita Sahni, a resident of Rajendra Nagar. "I am happy that such schools are going to start here. First, I will try in prominent schools, if my daughter does not get admission in Class I then I will send her to Indirapuram Public School. I have already bought the form."

Monica Dwivedi, another parent, said: "I am looking for a school that is near our residence. Only two schools are near our home - Usha Martin World School and Pilani World School. I am trying in both of them."
