Patna: The CBI is set to take six arrested persons on remand for further questioning in connection with the mysterious disappearance and murder of 14-year-old Navruna Chakravarty from her house on Jawaharlal Road in Muzaffarpur on September 18, 2012.

The investigating officer of the case petitioned in the special CBI court seeking five-day police remand for further interrogation.

The petition has been listed for hearing on May 4. Six persons - Shah Alam Shabbu, Brajesh Singh, Vikrant Shukla, Vimal Agrawal, Abhay Gupta and Rakesh Kumar - were arrested in the case on Sunday.

A source in the CBI said the investigation officer has sought remand of the arrested persons on the plea that all of them were associated with property deals and the incident prima facie appeared to be a fallout of dispute over a plot of land belonging to the victim's family in the heart of the district headquarters town.

The CBI described all the arrested persons as bahubalis (musclemen). A total of 225 people were quizzed by the investigating officials and nine were selected for Narco analysis test. Twelve persons were sent for brainmapping and call details of 75 suspects were scrutinised to zero in on the real culprits.
