“Life”

I can still feel those days,

When it used to be fun,

I didn’t have any regrets,

And always woke up with the sun.

When covering up wasn’t my only job,

I had friends; I had a life,

People were harsh then as well:

It didn’t bother me, didn’t cause me strife.

Time was racing ahead,

I didn’t realise where I was going.

But now that I look back:

All I’ve done is breaching…

Dusk was bound to follow the day,

Happiness and peace had to vanish.

Things are way too transient,

My life had turned amiss.

Now, alone in an empty place,

I’m struggling with my thoughts.

Knowing I can’t help anything,

No one appreciated what I got.

It isn’t easy to rise after a fall,

Yet I’m craving, working hard.

I promise to be honest,

And my path with not retard.

Yes, I’ve been wrong,

Yes, I’ve made mistakes.

But I’ve learnt my lessons,

And I’ve got what it takes.

There are always some stupid regrets,

And constantly I may encounter strife

But neither joy nor sorrow is everlasting,

And that’s what they call “Life”.
