Patna, Feb. 25: Music is the food of life for the Roshan brothers from Bangalore, and today they cast a harmonious spell on their audience on the premises of Arvind Mahila College in the state capital.
Roshan Rajan and Ritwik Roshan had been invited by the students and teachers of the college to celebrate the birthday party of their principal Asha Singh. The surprise party, which was organised with clockwork efficiency, moved Singh to tears.
“I have always directed all my effort to the social and moral development of my students. I want all my students to be noble citizens,” said Singh.
She also cut a 12-pound cake ordered by the students.
A source said the day would be celebrated henceforth as Vikas Divas every year. Development plans for the whole year would be tabled on this day.
Singh added: “The college will be developed as much as possible. No effort will be spared in this regard.
“Girls should be given every opportunity to grow so that they can achieve success and are not tied down by anything,” said the principal.
Of course there is no better birthday gift than a musical one.
The Roshan brothers began their performance with a Ganesh vandana. Then they also sang “Tum jiyo hazaron saal, happy birthday to you.”
They also sang a number of old and new numbers, much to the delight of the crowd.
Roshan — an engineer — said the duo have been singing since they were one. Their love for music and the support of their fans keeps them going, he added.
