The arrest of Aayan Mallick and Sehran Mallick in connection with the murder of paan shop owner Ajit Kumar Chaurasiya at New Dakbungalow roundabout on June 10 has been worrying police.

The revelation that the duo were members of a bikers' gang operating in Patna has brought into focus involvement of more such bikers' gangs in serious criminal offences.

Aayan, Sehran, Chimi, a criminal of Bakrganj, and two others had gone to loot Chaurasiya but soon a scuffle ensued during which he was shot.

Priyaranjan, the SHO of Gandhi Maidan police station, said: "Aayan is the cousin of Manis Mallick, who runs Kings of Patna, a bikers' gang operating around Bailey Road. Manis is involved in several criminal activities, including having made an extortion demand from a builder in Phulwari. A few months ago, Shastri Nagar police had even arrested Manis in this connection."

The officer added: "<>Though Aayan studies in a in Bangalore engineering college, he is a member of the Kings of Patna gang and works with his cousin, Manis Mallick."

Police sources said a few months ago, Aayan got to know Chimi and later introduced Manis to Chimi. Thereafter, Chimi, Manis, Aayan and Sehran committed crime together.
