Patna: A low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal may delay arrival of monsoon in Bihar.

The system was static on Sunday and weathermen are keeping a watch on its direction of movement which would influence the arrival of monsoon. "If the system moves westwards from its current position in northeast Bay of Bengal it would bring monsoon to Bihar between June 12 and 15," an official with the Patna Met office said, adding that the northward movement of the system would delay the arrival of the rain-bearing winds in Bihar.

"The northward movement would lead to feeding of moisture towards Bangladesh and Myanmar and thus the moisture content in the air over Bihar would be reduced and the arrival of monsoon would get delayed," he said.
